Explosive welding composite method The composite process of explosive welding is as follows: the explosive placed on the composite material is detonated by a detonator, and the instantaneous thrust causes the composite material to collide with the base material at a certain angle at a high speed. Since the impact force exceeds the dynamic yield limit of the metal, As a result, severe plastic deformation occurs in the collision area, and a large amount of heat is released. At the same time, the metal near the collision point forms a jet, breaking through the oxide film on the metal surface, and under the action of high temperature and high pressure, the two metals form a metallurgical bond between atoms.
The advantages of the explosive welding composite method mainly include the following aspects:
1) The production process is simple and the equipment requirements are low;
2) Explosive welding can combine two metals with very different properties such as melting point, linear expansion coefficient, yield strength, etc. and meet certain application requirements, such as aluminum/copper, lead/steel, etc., which is the most unique advantage of explosive compounding; 3) The size adjustment range is wide when the compounding conditions allow, and it can be freely combined to complete the compounding of large-area, large-size plates and special-shaped parts that cannot be completed by other welding methods;
4) The interface bonding layer is wavy, and the base layer and the cladding metal are interdigitated, so the shear bonding strength of the interface is very high.
Although the explosive welding composite method has many advantages, it also has disadvantages that cannot be ignored:
1) The dust pollution and noise pollution generated by the explosion have a great impact on the surrounding environment;
2) This method has defects such as bulging, explosion deformation, explosion fracture, and large residual stress. In order to eliminate these defects, it is usually necessary to heat-treat the composite plates obtained after the explosion;
3) Due to the technical limitation of the explosion method, it is difficult to produce thin plates below 10mm, and the cost is very high;
4) Since the explosion compounding is usually carried out outdoors in the suburbs, due to the weather and the approval of the explosion site, the supply cycle is long;
5) The degree of continuous production, mechanization, automation, and intelligence is very low.
